Estimator - Role and Responsibilities

Analyse technical specifications and tender documents, analyse drawings, BOMs and schedules prior to preparing material and time cost estimates.

Coordinate and liaise with sales, manufacturing and procurement departments in the preparation of tender/enquiry documentation.

Work with engineering and production to improve the accuracy of time quoted.

Participate in costing exercises of current and previous jobs as and when requested to eradicate waste and inefficiencies and to improve areas of inaccuracies in the estimating process.

 

Estimator - Skills and Abilities

An engineering background.

HNC or equivalent Ability to read engineering drawings At least three years experience of estimating high value projects across multiple sectors.

Good communication and interpersonal skills to contribute to the estimating team and liaise with sales, manufacturing and procurement departments.

Excellent attention to detail.
